Germany & Austria - The Danube by Bike & Ship (8 days)
Europe's second longest river, the Danube, courses through ten nations en route to the Black Sea. This itinerary follows its journey through three European countries and some of the Europe's most romantic landscapes. From the cobblestone streets of charming Passau to the Austrian capital of Vienna this journey by ship and bike offers the opportunity to experience life on the Danube and the surrounding countryside at your own pace.
- DAY 1: Join Passau (Germany)
- DAY 2: Cycle through countryside to Engelhartszell and onto Schlogen (50km) and continue to Linz by ship
- DAY 3: Cycle to the quaint village of Grein (36km)
- DAY 4: Cycle via Melk with its imposing Benedictine Monastery to Tulln in the heart of the Wachau valley (51km)
- DAY 5: Cycle to Vienna (35km)
- DAY 6: At leisure in Vienna, optional 3 hour cycle tour of city or evening Waltz Concert
- DAY 7: Cycle through the Wachau valley visiting Krems and Spitz en-route (36km)
- DAY 8: Morning sail through the Danube valley, disembark Passau, trip concludes
