Cuba & Mexico (24 days)

This adventure combines the highlights of Cuba and Mexico. Experience Havana and its colonial buildings and the cobble-stoned streets of Trinidad town. You'll enjoy a catamaran cruise in clear Caribbean waters and follow the Cuban Revolution to Santa Clara, home to the Che Guevara memorial. Further on is Vinales with its lush green valleys and important tobacco farms.

You can relax on the beaches of Cayo Levisa before flying across the Gulf of Mexico to Mexico City. The capital lies a short distance from ancient Teotihuacan, site of the massive Pyramid of the Sun. Further on is colonial Puebla and colourful Oaxaca, renowned for its beautiful architecture and fantastic food. We discover Monte Alban, the ancient capital of the Zapotecs and the colourful Indian town of San Cristobal. After the magnificent jungle ruins of Palenque we arrive in Merida on the Yucatan Peninsula and explore the ancient Mayan ruins of Uxmal and Chichen Itza.

Our Cuban and Mexico adventure comes to an end in the resort city of Cancun.

  • Days 1-2: (Fri) Arrive Havana and transfer to hotel. Full day to explore city.
  • Days 3-5: Bus to Trinidad. Explore town and boat cruise to Cayo Macho, including seafood lunch.
  • Day 6: Morning hike along the Codina Trail. Continue to Santa Clara to visit Che Guevara Mausoleum and Armoured Train Museum.
  • Days 7-8: Visit Las Terrazas Biosphere Reserve and Vinales, including visit to a cigar factory and boat ride in Indian Cave.
  • Day 9: Drive to beautiful Cayo Levisa. Free time for optional beach activities.
  • Day 10: Return to Havana and fly to Mexico City.
  • Days 11-12: Sightseeing in colonial centre and excursion to nearby Teotihuacan.
  • Days 13-14: Drive to Oaxaca via Puebla. Visit the Zapotec ruins of Monte Alban.
  • Days 15-17: Visit Chiapa de Corzo and Sumidero. Explore San Cristobal de las Casas and surrounding Indian villages.
  • Days 18-19: Drive to Palenque and visit waterfalls and Mayan jungle ruins. Continue to Campeche.
  • Days 20-21; Drive to Merida. Explore Merida city and Uxmal.
  • Days 22-23: Drive from Merida to Cancun, visiting magnificent Chichen Itza ruins en route. Free day in Cancun or visit the sandy beaches of Playa del Carmen.
  • Day 24: Trip ends after breakfast (Sun).
