Australia - Tasmania

Australia - Tasmania

Tasmania is an island of history, where the past is forever evident. There is a rich colonial history to encounter, with ever present reminders of the past in sandstone cottages, and the historic streetscapes of the cities. Experience the clean air, pure water and delicious food and wine. Tasmania is an island of dramatic and beautiful landscapes with wilderness, wildlife and wild flowers.

Hobart the capital is a city of sails and sandstone, of sun and sea breezes, perfect for leisurely strolls. The historic town of Richmond is very quaint, stone houses with cottage gardens and beautiful roses. At the Bonorong Wildlife Park you can meet a Devil - the Tasmanian Devil.

Launceston is the hub of Northern Tasmania and is famous for the cliff grounds of Cataract Gorge Reserve. Do walk the suspension bridge, and perhaps ride the longest single span chairlift. Cradle Mountain - the beautiful World-Heritage listed site is a must! Pristine rainforest, glacial lakes and waterfalls are some of the highlights.

If you are interested in Gardens, then the time to visit Tasmania is September until May when you can visit daffodil and tulip farms, rhododendron and native gardens. You will find many of the best gardens are around the historic cottages and stately homes.
