Vietnam - Travelling on 1960's / 1970's Vespas (12 days)
Hello Vespa riders! Come with us and bring a group of friends as we travel through Vietnam on genuine, old-timer Vespas from the 60s-70s. We are now offering the chance for you to enjoy your passion for Vespas while you explore this diverse and exotic country.
We have 2 beautiful routes from which you can choose from, both of which provide a mix of cultural highlights, breathtaking scenery, and a glimpse of everyday Vietnamese lifestyle. Cities and villages; mountains and beaches; nightlife and isolation; sand dunes and forests; roadside meals and gourmet restaurants - Never will you have imagined Vietnam to be so diverse.
- Day 1: Arrive
- Day 2: Saigon City Tour
- Day 3: Saigon - Long Hai - Ho Tram - After breakfast at the hotel we will leave the city and head for the coast on our Vespas. In Cat Lai we will take the ferry crossing and continue driving toward Long Hai. Along the way we will make frequent stops for breaks in the shade of the Indian rubber trees and fruit plantations. This gives us all a chance to enjoy the day and meet local people. If you chose to not drive certain portions of the journey you are welcome to ride in the air-conditioned bus, which accompanies the group and transports the entire luggage. Upon arrival at the resort in Long Hai, the beach invites you to come down for a visit. Afterwards enjoy a refreshing bath and a restful night's sleep. (Vespa travel approx. 120km)
- Day 4: Long Hai - Mui Ne - After breakfast our Vespa tour takes us over the roads-less-traveled along the coast to Phuoc Buu. We pass lonely bays and rock formations along the way and arrive in La Gi for lunch. In the afternoon we continue our drive towards the untouched beach sections of Mui Ne. During this journey we visit the oldest lighthouse from Ka Ge and a local school. Our beach hotel lies just 22km from the city of PNinhan Thiet. You can either chose to enjoy the remainder of the day on the beach of Mui Ne, or travel further up the road to a fishing village and enjoy a bit of local culture. Here, hundreds of fish join together in the pictoral bay and offer a breath-taking sight in the evening sun. For this evening's dinner we suggest enjoying a large offering of fresh, local seafood at one of Mui Ne's many top locations. Overnight accommodation in Cocobeach Hotel. (Vespa travel approx. 137km)
- Day 5: Long Hai - Mui Ne - beach day
- The entire day day is for you to relax perhaps enjoy the day at the beaxh or a massage. For those who want the vespas are available to explore the area.
- Day 6: Mui Ne - Ninh Chu - Early in the morning we leave Mui Ne to experience dawn at the nearby sand dunes. Enjoy the morning amongst the dunes while having your picnic breakfast complete with champagne before we drive north along the coast with our Vespas. Today you will have many photo opportunities as we drive 135km through beautiful countryside of lonely beach bays and breath-taking landscapes while meeting the friendly local people along the way. Our final destination for the day is Ninh Chu where we will overnight at Hotel Den Gion. (Vespa travel approx. 135km)
- Day 7: Ninh Chu - Dalat - Today we will travel 115 km. After having an extensive breakfast at the hotel we settle back into seats once again and begin to make our way to Dalat. For this journey we take one of the most romantic roads, which winds itself beside Cham Tempels, coffee and tea plantations, and fruit orchards and flower meadows. We will make many stops along the way to enjoy this change in climate, vegetation, and scenery. European climate prevails in Dalat and you will be struck by the abrupt change you have just witnessed. Dinner is on your own and the evening is for you to explore and enjoy. Tonight we stay in a colonial hotel. (115k)
- Day 8: Dalat - Our entire day today will be spent investigating this French designed city. The city was built as a retreat for the French to escape the heat of the city during the hot summer months. In order to make themselves feel a bit more at home, they created a lake in the center of the city and built their chateaus on the hills in the area to take full advantage of the view. We will make an initial exploratory route through the city on the Vespas. We will visit pagodas, monuments, notable buildings, and the markets. The remainder of the day is your to either continue your examination of the city, schedule a tee time and enjoy a round of golf of one of the city's courses, or just relax on a patio and enjoy the fresh, crisp air.
- Day 9: Dalat - Nha Trang - After breakfast we will make our way back to the coast. This time our destination is Nha Trang and it is the most well-known resort town in Vietnam. We take a route, which is further north this time and once again offers beautiful scenery and cultural treasures we are sure to visit along the way. Once we reach the lively city of Nha Trang we will check into the hotel and the remainder of the day is yours to discover the city. Evening at leisure and dinner on your own.
- Day 10: Nha Trang - Today we offer an investigation route around the city and the surrounding rural area. 2 main sites of interest are the largest salt fields in Vietnam, which are located on one of the peninsulas and the local Cham Temples. The afternoon and evening are again yours to enjoy on your own.
- Day 11: Nha Trang - Beach and ocean day! Today is focused completely on relaxation and recovery. The sandy beach awaits and the sea will offer your body the refreshment it needs after many days on the Vespa. Also consider taking advantage of a massage or another wellness treatment the Vietnamese are famous for.
- Day 12: Nha Trang - Saigon - Today we leave Nha Trang and fly back to Saigon. From here you can depart for your home destination, spend a bit more time in Saigon, or head directly to an extension of your vacation. Perhaps you would like to next explore the island of Phu Quoc just off the southwest coast of Vietnam, or combine this adventure with a tour of Angkor Wat and the other treasures Cambodia holds.
