Vietnam - Thai Binh Community Housing Project (15 days)
The American/Vietnam war in the 60's and 70's killed thousands of Thai Binh Province soldiers but 30 years later, thousands still suffer the effects of war. More than one hundred families suffer with mental and physical deformities that have continued over three generations.
Thai Binh is an agricultural province in the coastal area of Vietnam's Northern Delta. Although the local area has improved with recent economic development, Thai Binh is still a poor province. This struggling community is in dire need of housing assistance. Our project aims to work side by side with local people to build a house for a family of 4-5 people.
This project is a perfect way to give some thing back to Vietnam after we embark on a fascinating cultural journey to experience the bustle of Ho Chi Minh City, the coastal beauty of the Nha Trang and Hoi coast, the elegance of Hue's pagodas and the teeming market places of the nations capital, Hanoi.
