On our 'special escorted departure', lead by Dr Stephen Van Mil, you will enjoy a very personal experience in the Borneo wilderness and see this wonderful animal. There's an opportunity to meet orangutan infants at the Care Centre and to chat with volunteers and experts who have devoted their lives to the care and rehabilitation of these amazing animals. It's here where you will learn about the projects that are keeping them alive.
Stephen is a former veterinarian, a dedicated animal lover and a Conservationist. His 'Animal Media' company specialises in all aspects of media involving our wonderful creatures of the world. In conjunction with Fork Films, the award winning The Last Trimate (2008) was a world-released documentary narrated by Mel Gibson and featuring the amazing life-work of Birute Mary Galdikas and orangutans in Indonesian Borneo.
